The individual in this role will work closely with data architects, translate complex business data requirements into efficient ETL packages, will understand and apply the concepts of proper ETL design, and gain a strong understanding of source data to ensure the design approach results in a logical and efficient ETL solution to support the Data Conversion efforts. Provide technical/user documentation and training; perform peer reviews of work items produced at various stages of the project. To design, build, program ETL procedures (DataStage/Unix) Prepare Technical Design / Specifications; develop routines for data extraction and loading Assists in the identification and resolution of inefficiencies in ETL designs Determines and implements solutions for ETL design problems Validates ETL designs for accuracy and performance, identifying opportunities for improvement Analyzes the impact of source system data design changes as they relate to existing ETL solutions and makes appropriate changes to existing ETL solutions Performs analysis to prevent data redundancy across systems and employs data integration best practices. Performs data profiling, understands source data, and designs ETL solutions to accommodate any nuances that may exist Works with implementation team to ensure smooth deployment of packages and ensures resolution of outstanding issues ETL development using IBM DataStage Interface with the business analyst to define technical requirements Make recommendations on changes required to implement clinical systems *Required Skill:* 8+ yrs IT experience, 6+ yrs ETL experience Strong DataStage Developer QualityStage, Information Analyzer and other tools such as metadata workbench is a plus PL/SQL, T-SQL Scripts, UNIX Shell scripts, Stored Procedures, Triggers, etc. Performance tune of large clinical databases, employing various techniques such as schema bound views, database partitioning, and ETL/Query optimization.
