*What we are looking for”Monitoring engineer supports infrastructure
alerting, identify gaps, and make recommendationon how to fix them. this
project requires knowledge in three main areas of the
infrastructure:(middleware & Database, OS and virtualization, Storage &
network)*
*What are the day to day responsibilities of this
position? Review state of infrastructure alerting (Database,
OS and Virtualization, Storage, and Network)Identify gaps, and make
recommendation on how to fix themConfigure Monitoring Tools to close the
gap in the alerting infrastructure*
*The Monitoring and Event Management Team is looking for a
Monitoring/System Engineer with solid understanding Event Management
Framework,Network Monitoring, Storage, Unix/Windows Operating Systems,
RelationalDatabases, and Microsoft System Center Operations Manager. The
candidate shouldbe able to understand the core components of technologies
above, generate thresholdsthat are critical to performance of the
technologies, and be ableto configure SCOM, NetQOS, NetScout, and/or any
other monitoring tools.Install and configure monitoring agents on windows
and UNIX servers.Analyze event logs /notification data and recommend next
appropriate actionsCreate or modify monitoring dashboards and reports that
provide insightinto the health status of the infrastructure and
Applications of GEICO.Modify or Extend Management Packs to override
baseline configurationWorking with the customers and team members, you will
make necessaryconfiguration changes to improve the monitoring
framework.Write scripts to automate repetitive monitoring tasks.Maintain
and create checklists and standard operating procedures to document
operations and maintenance activities.Successful delivery of assigned tasks
while adhering to major milestones and ensuring quality of
implementations.Provide periodic on-call production support of the
monitoring and alerting systems.*
