Client maintains several production data centers, but the majority of development and testing occurs in the lab, which is located at the headquarters facilities. * *Responsibilities: * • Troubleshoot and communicate status of networking and other issues in the lab • Add new routing, VLANs, and firewall rules (via ACLs) on Cisco Nexus 7k and Cisco Catalyst 6509 switches • Add firewall rules on Cisco ASA 5500 firewalls • Rack, stack, and run cables for new hardware • Decommission old hardware • Work hand in hand with project managers, engineers, administrators, and customers to deliver projects on time and in budget • Develop documentation for requirements, architectural designs, engineering drawings and diagrams, as well as operational policies and procedures for the lab • Develop documentation to deploy server, blades, and enclosures to the test and development lab • Perform monitoring and tuning to identify and resolve bottlenecks • Encourage an environment of sharing and teamwork among the project teams • Develop and documents best practices for system installation, deployment, and operation • Explore and stay abreast of new technologies that can bring value to the organization *Qualifications: * • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or 5 to 7 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Solid understanding of Access Control Lists and Routing • Experience with Cisco network switches (6509, Nexus 7k) • Experience with HP and Cisco blades required. (i.e. BL460c and B200M3) • Experience with Oracle SPARC servers a plus (T4/T5 and M10) • Experience with managing firmware in a blade enclosure environment including virtual connect • Configuring and troubleshooting skills in server hardware and software problems • Understanding of SAN, NAS and local storage technologies • Experience with Microsoft, UNIX/Linux/VMware operating systems • Working knowledge of Hardware performance trouble shooting and technologies • Familiarity with Security Principles and methods • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Provide excellent customer service, leadership, communication, problem solving and decision making skills • Demonstrate strong prioritization, time management and organizational skills • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Listens, understands, and gets clarification.
