*Role: .NET Architect/Manager Location: Norfolk, VA Duration: 6+ months* *SUMMARY*: Manage the software development, configuration management, testing, and maintenance of an Emissions Monitoring System (Emsys) software application. Maintain software roadmap ensuring product lifecycle changes meet changing requirements. Ensure schedule and quality expectations are met. Provide technical leadership to the product team and communicate status, recommendations and issues to Senior Management. Under general supervision of a Program Manager, responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire project life cycle. The Project Manager must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team. In addition, responsible for assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedule to ensure timely completion of project. Regularly communicates with Program Manager and Department Head on the status of deliverables, including any performance issues regarding Engineering resources working on development efforts. *JOB DUTIES /RESPONSIBILITIES:* Develop project plans (identify requirements, scope definition, project schedules, WBS, risk management, etc.). Use experience and judgment, develops and maintains plans outlining steps and time tables for developing software applications. Support the development of cost estimates, quotes, and prepares budgets. Monitor and control project execution (scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, etc.) including staffs, budgets, and close-out process. Manage project staff, and provide task assignments. Prepare and submit performance reports to senior managers including resource projections and performance forecasts. Aide the negotiation of requirements and deliveries. Support the preparation of proposals, plans, and specifications. Develop resolutions to project issues and escalates them as appropriate to Program Manager. Strive to improve efficiency through reducing unnecessary costs. Collect information on program needs, future objectives, functions and features. Consult with Program Manager and engineering staff to evaluate communication interfaces between hardware and software, and all operational and performance requirements of the overall system. Lead the Software team in the design and implementation of new software features and bug fixes. Lead the Software team in quality assurance including developing testing plans and procedures to ensure full test coverage. Maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and updates. Respond to inquiries from customers regarding problems or questions about software applications. Maintain configuration management for testing and distribution of software releases. This includes interfacing with multiple hardware platforms operating in different environments. Monitor performance of software programs after installation. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and coaching to project team members. *EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:* BS/BA or equivalent experience. 7 years of IT experience. 3 years of Software Architect/Manager experience. 3 years of C# experience. 3 years of .NET experience. PLC coding experience preferred. 8-10 years of experience in management of projects in Engineering or Software Development Experience in managing software development project with technologies such as Relational Databases (MySQL), C, C++, C#, Linux (Ubuntu), Virtual Machines, and PLC controllers Thank you!
