In addition to technical aptitude, the right candidate will also have a professional and organized approach to work, be able to react to demanding situations quickly and efficiently and display a high level of dedication to the role. Candidates must be able to clearly communicate and work well with others as well as be able to document findings and procedures as part any system critical implementation to guide other staff. Required Experience and Skills: • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with any RDBMS in general andPostgreSQL (at least 2 years) in particular. • Familiarity with additional DBMSs (like Oracle and DB2) is an asset • Excellent SQL scripting skill including SPs, PSQL scripting • Hands-on experience on database administration and troubleshooting in co-location environments • Solid understanding of query execution plan and query optimization techniques • Experience supporting a mission-critical database environment with 24x7 On-Call Support including weekends • Good understanding with replicated databases and, HA, replication, load balancing using Pgpool experience is strongly preferred • Familiarity with approaches to database backup, recovery, PITR, and Disaster Recovery in general • Database optimization, and ability to carry out monthly dry run • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix flavor administration • Experience with shell scripting to automate tasks • Ability to deal with a broad range of situations from long-term strategic thinking to high priority escalations, while maintaining an objective viewpoint • Good understanding of VMWare and Storage technology • Experience with legal hold • Working experience of IDOL, Digital safe (or similar) products. *Best Regards,Object Technology Solutions, Inc.
