The Software Developer - Support & Operations will handle troubleshooting production issues, complex service request and the ongoing support requests for day to day operations of the various Internet and Intranet sites for our client. This will include: Reviewing change requests with Business Team/Project Managers to define scope and prioritization, estimate effort of implementation and ensure that deliverables are built to spec utilizing hands on approach. Actively participating in the coordination of all system patches/upgrades, disaster recovery, and performance testing. Exercises judgment within defined standards of the industry. Inspires team success through collaboration and constant feedback from business/ technical support team members globally. Requires excellent verbal/written communication skills. Qualifications BS or MS in Computer Science or related degree desired. 3-5 years of experience in software development role. Experience with multi-tiered J2EE/PLSQL large-scale applications leveraging Design Patterns, JSP's, Servlets concepts as well as open source frameworks such as MVC, Spring and AOP Advanced knowledge of programming language(s), software development IDE tools (Eclipse and TOAD/SQL Developer), source control environment(s), like SVN. Systems analysis and functional design experience is required, along with a thorough knowledge of database concepts and relational databases. Experience in system architecture, design principles and system development methodologies. Strong understanding of OOA/OOP, web-based technology, and experience with JBoss. Candidate must be proficient with standard JAVA (POJO) development tools, including Maven, log4J, JUnit, JavaDoc and popular IDE's such as Eclipse, NetBeans or IntelliJ IDEA. Candidate must be proficient with Test Driven Development (TDD) Must be proficient with Hibernate. Programming and design capabilities with XML and XSLT. Unix and shell programming experience. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills. Strong teamwork and analytical problem-solving ability. Able to understand and balance technical solutions versus business needs. Prioritization Management and exercise judgment in escalation to resolve issues.
