Provides Architectural and Engineering support for Network Deployment and
network engineering Work stream. Works with Network deployment and
Engineering team, key internal stakeholders, and Technology Vendor to
develop and implement Field engineering guidelines, installation process
and support construction & Site acquisition activities for deploying Data
collector units which will transport the data transmitted by the Module
Transmission Units (MTUs) ,which will be deployed by the Program.
Major project activities performed will include Architectural, electrical
and Construction engineering requirements, drawings review deployment
guidelines, Compliance and meeting other local jurisdiction requirements.
The highest system quality, reliability, and availability are essential to
avoid impact to revenue activities, customer satisfaction, and safety.
- Participates in Construction Bid walks, site survey, Tower vendor,
equipment vendor and site acquisition meetings to provide input related to
network engineering deployment requirements & solutions, timelines, Audit
and installation acceptance criteria.
- Responsible for engineering activities including structural analysis
and power attachment for Data Collection Units (DCUs).
- Recommends engineering deployment solution and identifies key network
deployment processes which will be impacted by Network deployment.
- Reports to Network engineering lead .
- Maintains relationships with key Site acquisition, Construction,
technology and outsourcing vendors to meet project milestones and ensure
timely completion of deliverables.
- Interacts with technical and non-technical customers to understand,
interpret and document requirements.
- Support project driven network deployment activities and site
acquisition effort by establish guidelines and standards.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and be able to clearly
articulate network deployment and engineering capabilities.
- Defines network installation acceptance process and works with
Technology Vendor to ensure site built as per engineering needs.
- Role will be based in Los Angeles, May require up to 50% travel time
(mostly Southern California area).

*Requirements*
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in civil or Mechanical or
Electrical engineering.
- PE certification is required. Preferred discipline is Electrical or
Structural
- 4-7 years of Telecom/wireless field Deployment - Architectural
engineering and project experience; project leadership/ management
experience is required
- Strong leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to
effectively communicate complex technical matters in business terms.
- Solid understanding of Telecom or wireless Field Engineering strongly
preferred, to include:
- Cell Site deployment and engineering related activities not limited to
Antenna, Equipment, Power and Ethernet, Coax cable routing requirements.
- Various installation types – Roof top, tower, Pole
- Knowledge of Structural and foundation Analysis
- Use of engineering tools like AutoCAD.
- Local Jurisdiction and Building codes
- Ability to perform optimal site selection, Antenna and equipment
placements, Quality audit, bid walks with construction team
- Knowledge of Bill of Materials
- Project Management Tool- Microsoft project , Siterra
Basic understanding of related network technologies preferred, including
Wide Area Network (WAN), and other Wired & Wireless Communication Transport.
