The IT QA Analyst role includes leading testing of business and functional
requirements as a key project team member involved in requirements
gathering sessions, business solution design and systems analysis in order
to create and own and execute the development of documented testing
specifications against the project requirements deliverables. The IT QA
Analyst will be guided by the project management set of practices in the
development of the testing specifications for IT projects.
*Key Areas of Responsibility*
The IT QA Analyst will be responsible for developing testing specifications
against requirements analysis efforts to ensure quality and tested
deliverables are released for project-based initiatives.
Work with business and IT teams to clarify testing
requirements and specifications, success criteria, to acquire commitment
and move forward with a sense of urgency.
Derive a detailed understanding of the stated business
problem and objectives and work with the business and technical teams to
develop testing criteria and specifications.
Decompose a given set of project development tasks into
manageable and distinct testing specifications. Ability to efficiently
work with the project team to determine the optimal ways to test the
project deliverables. .
Plan and facilitate quality assurance testing sessions,
validate works through focus sessions, one-on-one interviews, and project
team input.
Utilize automated and manual testing tools to execute
testing scenarios, utilizing use cases and user interface prototypes.
Lead project QA efforts to develop system test plans,
ensure software quality assurance (SQA) standards are achieved, and
validate that business goals are accomplished.
*Responsibilities*
Gather and prepare system test plans and documentation from
a project objective perspective.
Acts as active contributor to SDLC process improvement by
having an understanding and knowledge of software engineering and testing
best practices
Mentor and educate IT and business colleagues about
software quality assurance standards and quality assurances role within
development lifecycle
Assist with alignment of project objectives and IT
solutions including business strategies and objectives through quality
deliverables
Serve as active contributor to company-shared knowledge
repositories (wikis, blogs, sharepoint, intranet, etc.)
Develop strong internal relationships with key stakeholders
and subject-matter experts across the organization

*Qualifications*
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science,
or a related field or demonstrated, equivalent experience.
Strong meeting facilitation, written and verbal and
communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate across company and
department boundaries and tailor message to the given audience.
Experience in identifying and documenting test plans and
specifications against requirements utilizing business analysis and
software quality assurance design techniques.
Ability to express complex ideas clearly to individuals in
diverse job functions and at all levels within the organization
Experience using software quality assurance testing tools
and productivity suites such as Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Word, Microsoft
PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
*Other Required Qualifications*
Ability to work effectively with, and support the needs of,
project team members and internal customers in leading quality and testing
efforts.
Capability to critically evaluate information gathered to
identify problems and opportunities
Possess creative problem solving skills with an
understanding of business concepts and models.
Ability to work with distributed virtual teams
Knowledge of data processing fundamentals including entity
relationship diagrams, database models, structured application design and
IT infrastructure (networking and hardware).
*Preferred Qualifications*
3 years experience in structured systems testing, including
execution of system, interface and end to end test cases
2 years experience developing in developing and executing
test plans, test procedures, and test cases based on requirements and
analysis and design documents in accordance with accepted testing
methodologies
Experience working with complex and multiple interfacing
systems
Previous work with enterprise systems including MAS 200 and
experience
using Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL
Ability to influence teams and peers without explicit
authority
Ability to impact peers and project teams in a positive way
by demonstrating resilience when faced with adversity.
Experience in teaching or mentoring professionals in
quality assurance and testing best practices
