The successful candidate should have strong database experience with Large (multi-terabytes) systems on DB2 AIX, particularly in the data warehousing arena, have hands-on advanced trouble-shooting and performance tuning. The successful candidate should be adaptive to the Visa's agile environment! *Responsibilities * - Requirement gathering and performing capacity planning - Database physical design, architecture and configuration of large infrastructures Developing complex shell scripts - Preparing specifications and defining best practices and standards. - Strong DB2 9.7 (AIX) expertise combined with sharp conceptual and analytical thinking! - Working knowledge of Oracle RAC/Exadata/DB2 ISAS. Understand and be able to define different DB2 partitioning strategies; be able to provide 3rd and 4th level support. - Strong knowledge and experience with database physical design *Education/Experience*: - Bachelor or Master degree 8+ years experience working with DB2 LUW V9.7 with DPF Knowledge of other RDBMS, especially Oracle, is a plus Support multiple projects and applications. - Experience with database physical design, performance monitoring and troubleshooting, backup & recovery, change management. *Skills* - Strong knowledge of DB2 and related DBMS technologies. - Strong Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required) - Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required) - Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback (Required) *Nice to have skills in order of importance* - Must Have: Strong experience with DB2 in large DPF environments. - Good analytical skills, good performance tuning and scripting skills. - Abilities to articulate points. - Good conceptual understanding of relative terms - Working knowledge in data warehouse environments and experience with Oracle RAC and potentially Oracle Exadata *Roles and responsibilities* - Will be a part of the Database Architecture group and will support project development, DW migrations, performance tuning and other database related activities. - Will represent the team in the project meetings - Any technology companies or a particular industry background The companies that have large Data repositories, Data Warehouses in house, preferably on DB2 AIX and Oracle. * * *Thanks &* -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "oraapps" group.
