Responsibilities:

    Participate full lifecycle software development.

    Work with Business Analysts in translating business requirements into
high level and /or Object Oriented design specification.

    Translate design documents into software specifications.

    Make best design and implementation decisions to ensure quality and
efficiency.

    Develop applications and features through heavy hands-on coding.

    Mentor software engineers and developers.

    Conduct project design reviews and code reviews.

    Work with QA analysts to ensure proper test plans are developed.

    Respond to technical direction from architects.

    Provide system architecture or design documents.

    Provide technical design support to architects and managers.

    Provide support to other internal teams.

    Participate in technical/professional training.

    Respond to administrative direction from Manager.



Knowledge and Skills Education: B.S. in Computer Science or related, or
equivalent work experience.



Experience & Training:



    8-10 years development experience in full life-cycle development.

    5+ years experience as Senior or Lead S/W Engineer or Architect
-Proficient in Java and J2EE(EJB, JMS, JNDI, Servlet/JSP, SOAP).

    Other required key languages: GWT, Hibernate, Web Service, HTML, UNIX
shell.

    7 years development experience in Oracle or other relational databases.

    5 years in JBoss.

    Project level leadership and Object Oriented design methodology
experience.

    Self-motivated, detail oriented, and highly responsible.

    Must be a faster learner and multi-tasker.

    Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

    Strong communications skills.



Education/Experience



    Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant
field required o 10+ years experience required.



Responsibility level



    Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor.



Skills



    Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills,
customer service and interpersonal skills (Required).

    Expert ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required).

    Expert mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive
performance feedback (Required).

    Expert knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from
business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional
specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery (Required).

    Expert ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed
to resolve issue.

    Expert knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment
and computer hardware and software (Required).

    Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to systems,
such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc (Required).



Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:



    Review and approve the modification of existing databases and database
management systems.

    Instruct staff to write and code logical and physical database
descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system.

    Direct database development and approve project scope and limitations.

    Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time
and cost required to accomplish project.

    Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard
information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage,
modification or disclosure.

    Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of
new products and improvements to computer systems.

    Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of
software and to protect vulnerable information.
