Job Title: Linux Administrator
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Duration: 12 month contract
Develop and deploy web and network applications and capabilities important
to the delivery of a next-generation broadband service.
Assist in the development of requirements to be used by the vendor
community to develop solutions to meet comcast application needs.
Assist in the evaluation of various architectural solutions,
implementations, and vendors.
Establish and maintain productive relationships with peer organizations.
Establish and maintain productive relationships with equipment and software
vendors.
Develop test plans/cases to be used in verifying documented requirements.
Participate in / oversee the testing and certification process as needed.
Technical leadership in the engineering organization.
Demonstrated ability to deliver the items listed in the major duties
section above, as well as:
At least 3 years of engineering experience.
At least 3 years experience with unix and linux operating systems, such as
redhat and sun solaris, is required.
At least 3 years experience with ip networking (e.g., tcp/ip, dns, dhcp,
nat).
Some experience with large-scale, highly-available customer-facing ip
application services.
Experience with ipv6 is a plus.
Experience working on new technology development, new technology trials,
and new product releases is required.
Demonstrated understanding of the software development life cycle and agile
development is required.
Must be a flexible, resourceful, team player that is able to thrive in a
fast-paced, constantly changing environment, and work across organizational
boundaries.
