Location: Washington, DC
Duration: 4+ months*

*Rate is up to 50-55/hr range.*

*SUMMARY –  Provide operations support for LivEdgar and related
applications, including: identifying failures and responding to incidents;
analysis and troubleshooting; mitigating impact and restoring service; and
coordinating and completing requested changes while ensuring high
application availability and stability. *
**
*Primary duties
Provides initial analysis of process failures and coordinates the
resolution within department.
Provides operations support through - job setup and scheduling; performance
and failure monitoring.
Ensures accurate and timely completion of daily and other periodic
operations tasks.
Provide well-written documentation, and update existing documentation as
changes occur.
Requests/develops in-house utilities to assist in LIVEDGAR operations
functions.
Works closely with customer support to communicate technical issues,
receive feedback about customer problems, and coordinate changes.
Assists manager with on-call support as directed and follows established
procedures.*

*Skills and Experience
2+ years of experience with LAN OS such as Windows Server 2003 and 2008 and
its related hardware, utilities and applications, Active Directory, and
email software.
Familiarity with command line, Windows Script or any other script language,
as well as techniques to troubleshoot application failures.
Experience with TCP/IP, Internet technology and related development
applications and some working knowledge of Visual C++ to aid in
troubleshooting application failures.
Experience with SQL Server preferred.
Understanding of network technologies a plus.
Familiarity with HP Service Manager or similar ticketing system.
Strong analytical & problem solving skills for assessing issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Flexibility working nights and weekends.*
