Focus will be on part of the Practical Law applications integrating into WLN. The workers will be developing/building new applications with the WLN code set along with Drafting Assnt Suite. WLN has millions of users and is a flagship product for Thomson Reuters - adding in the Practical Law applications is high priority since this recent acquisition. This is a great project for someone to work on - high visibility, the latest and greatest technologies and in an Agile environment! * * *Open to non-local candidates as well - will do Video Interviews in place of on-site.*** *This position entails working within the WestlawNext legal research product, implementing customer-facing functionality as part of a relatively small team (~4-5 developers). The work is scoped to primarily to our online document, website, and mobile development modules. Expectations are set at the same level as our other engineers, which include a high degree of quality, significant unit test coverage, standardized conventions, and industry best practices. The role requires a good understanding of working with product owners to derive feedback and directly implement business requirements. The project is run using an Agile methodology involving two-week iterations, daily scrums, and rapid feedback-oriented development. * *Primary Job Responsibilities** ** • Researches, designs, develops and integrates applications at a senior software engineer level as per written specifications. • Develop new software in accordance with written specifications. • Develop software using the Agile development lifecycle, adhering to industry standards and software engineering best practices. • Essential day-to-day responsibilities include performing coding assignments, unit testing, ensuring development standards are being followed, analyzing functional specifications, producing technical specifications and unit testing scripts, and participating in team code reviews and impact assessments. • Participate in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work. • Recommends solutions for software enhancements. • Provide accurate and timely status reports on work progress. • Other duties may include defect research/resolution and/or assistance in technical documentation. • Review work of peers and junior developers. • Provides technical guidance and coaching to more junior team members. Qualifications / Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent required.
