*Please send resume to s...@cncconsulting.com * Job Title: QA Analyst Location: NYC Duration: 9 Months Direct Client Position F2F interview SCOPE OF SERVICES MTA Metro-North Railroad (Metro-North) requires consulting services to support the development and implementation of a new Electronic Hours of Service (EHOS) system. Background: Metro-North is in the process of developing a new web based system for Train Service Employees to record their Hours of Service data, employing a three-tier architecture model, allowing pre-populated database records to be appropriately accessed, edited, and validated. The Project Team is in the process of finalizing the Requirements Traceability Matrix and developing Use Cases, which will be used as the base for the Development, Documentation and Testing efforts. The Consultant selected will be serving as Quality Assurance Analyst for this critical initiative to ensure that the project adheres to an effective project management methodology and software development lifecycle process. This will involve working with Metro-North key stakeholders and to take a lead role in developing, documenting and instituting quality procedures. This position will require strong communication and writing skills, expertise in developing test plans and coordinating testing activities, and writing User, Operations and Maintenance manuals. The candidates must have experience and a proven track record as a Quality Analyst in a software systems development environment. Any risks identified during the development, testing and implementation process must be raised to the Metro-North Project Team in a timely manner and be accompanied with recommended mitigation strategies. Responsibilities: Apply the principles and practices of software quality assurance throughout the project life cycle. Create and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts for manual, functional, and system testing. Use formal testing methodologies for test planning and management. Participate in review meetings and work closely with the project team throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure the delivery of well-designed and developed software by providing feedback and working with the project team to identify and resolve issues, risks and defects. Provide test summary reports and facilitate issue review meetings. Analyze, develop and maintain high quality technical documentation and manuals. Evaluate and document quality practices to support hardware and software interfaces and integration with back office systems, processes and business rules. Review/audit contractor quality documentation and procedures and determine any required action plan. Coordinate end to end system integration testing with internal team and external contractor(s). Maintain quality project schedule and ensure the timely completion of testing activity and artifacts both internally and from contractor(s). Evaluate user requests and requirements and recommend effective technological solutions. Coordinate analysis, maintaining confidentiality and meeting required deliverable time frames.
