This data is used throughout the company and the products’ lifecycle, from the very beginning, to validate that units being built are fully tested and of high quality before leaving the factory, all of the way through to warranty support for customers. We are seeking an experienced Data Quality Analyst with a proven track record of data quality projects and initiatives. The purpose of this role is to ensure the highest quality of data feasible within the MQM environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Data Quality Analyst (DQA) is responsible for managing and improving the quality of data within all of the MQM data warehousing environments and, to some extent, data warehouses downstream from MQM. This individual will identify data quality issues, investigate issues identified by others, research and implement solutions to correct problems (at the source where possible), design code to correct historical data, develop alarm reports and monitoring programs, and execute data quality initiatives. This individual will work with business partners inside and outside of the company to identify data quality issues and address them in order based upon urgency and priority. Additional responsibilities include driving improvements in the organization, processes, and use of systems and data and implementing data quality initiatives (Data Quality Roadmap). Technical • Complex SQL coding, primarily in an Oracle or Teradata environment • Investigation using Unix to manipulate and research data in flat files • Able to effectively and efficiently work with an enterprise environment involving very large data sets - millions of records in both databases and flat files Data Quality Management • Execute data validation, data integrity, data profiling, data auditing, and data gap analyses • Implement data cleansing and data improvement initiatives • Design and develop processes to validate new data and changes in processes • Design and implement data quality monitoring reports, alerts, processes and governance • Document existing and potential data structures and data flow processes • Perform daily monitoring of feed files from factories and coordinate correction of invalid data • Develop the back-end of dashboards that can be used to track and improve data quality Strategic Initiatives • Able to think strategically, with a solid grasp of business issues and objectives, the implications of different solutions, and the identification of the optimal solution given the current environment’s constraints • Able to be strategic AND tactical.
