This new implementation is shifting our data warehouse and reporting infrastructure from DB2/Hyperion to Oracle/Cognos. The nature of our data is also changing, as data elements are changing purpose and semantics as part of the transition. BWC’s new system will have a transaction data store (TDS), operational data store (ODS) and a newly designed Oracle enterprise data warehouse. The Cognos developers will be primarily involved in developing reports using Cognos Report studio and performing Unit testing. They will collaborate with framework modelers, data analysts, business analysts, testing specialists, and business customers to create business reports that are accurate, reliable, attractive, timely, and relevant. Interview Dates: Week of February 3rd Length of the engagement and whether or not there is an option to extend: Ten months with possibility of extensio Experience with SQL programming against an Oracle RDBMS on data warehouse or business intelligence projects. Required 8 Years Experience with business intelligence tools such as IBM Cognos Required 7 Years Experience with development and support using dimensional/star-schema based data structures including fact tables (commonly referred to as Kimball) Required 5 Years Experience designing and developing Cognos (version 8.2 and above) reports using Report Studio, Analysis Studio and Active Reports Required 4 Years Proficiency with Cognos 10.2 and Workspace Advance features Desired Software development experience with Oracle RDBMS 11g Desired Software development experience with IBM DB2 SQL Desired Experience with HTML and JavaScript, as used for Cognos reporting Desired Experience writing design specifications, test scripts and other required documentation Desired Experience developing queries against normalized as well as dimensional data structures Desired Experience establishing standards based on industry best practices Desired Knowledge of property and casualty insurance systems Desired Experience using Oracle SQL*Plus, Toad, Oracle SQL Developer Desired Experience in measuring and tuning the performance of Oracle data warehouse SQL queries Desired Skill in the use of organizational tools & methods (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Clarity) Desired Experience performing peer reviews Desired Ability to effectively communicate with business and IT staff Desired Ability to quickly adapt to changes, enhancements, and new technologies Desired Ability to establish and maintain positive collaborative relationships with team members Desired *Please send resume to s...@cncconsulting.com <s...@cncconsulting.com> * Thanks, Sam CNC Consulting, Inc. 201-546-3096 s...@cncconsulting.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "oraapps" group.
