*Position:*          Business Analyst

*JOB DESCRIPTION*

·         This position is a client facing BA that is accountable for ITS
reporting and analysis specific to ITS claims processing results for
BCBSM.

·         This position will be utilized to conduct oversight of the ITS
development and production team performance within including the
specification documentation for ITS releases from the BCBS Association and
assure timely and accurate implementation.

·         All ITS systems will be monitored via production control reports
and this position will assure any defects will be immediately coordinated,
addressed and communicated to the BCBSM ITS team.

·         This position is accountable for the final review of release
notes prior to release to BCBSM.

*Essential Job Responsibilities:*

•                    Receive, review and interpret all claims processing
related updates from CMS and/or the Association.  Take the necessary steps
to update our system and/or coordinate updates with other business partners.

•                    Document and report all updates weekly via the
compliance tracker.

•                    Participate in weekly calls established by BCBSM to
support resolution of defects, transmittals and CR’s.

•                    Participate in release management meetings for both
releases and ITS releases.  Act and/or direct actions as needed to assure
ongoing compliance.

•                    Take adhoc service calls/questions from BCBSM directly
and report out as needed.

•                    Maintain ongoing awareness of the BCBSM contractual
turn around times and adhere to and refine processes that assure ongoing
compliance.

•                    Manage all ITS claims adjudication  and configuration
defects, including identifying and managing the scope of the defect, the
root cause of the defect, building a contingency and coordinating and
providing the client ECD for all corrections.

•                    Manage all incoming transmittals and defects received
from BCBSM involving ITS claims adjudication and configuration.  Coordinate
implementation and delivery in accordance with contract.

•                    Write desk level procedures (DLP’s) as needed to
support ongoing ITS claims processing.

•                    Initiate queries in the system to identify claims in
need of reprocessing as needed.  Coordinate the needed review and approval
from the client.

•                    Conduct testing as needed for all releases that
involve changes to ITS claims processing.

•                    Trend and react to themes within defects and
transmittal changes and direct corrective actions to prevent unnecessary
rework going forward.

•                    Document functional specifications for changes
required by the client, CMS and/or the Association when affecting ITS.
Assure acceptance by both the client and the development team.



*Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:*

•                    Minimum 5 years experience with Medicare claims
processing, combination of institutional and professional preferred.

•                    Minimum 2 years experience with ITS claims processing
at a BCBS plan.

•                    Minimum 5 years health plan claims experience.

•                    Minimum 2 years experience in Operations CMS and/or
Association compliance role, i.e. accountable for interpreting regulatory
requirements and directing actions as necessary.

•                    Project management/time management skills

•                    Vendor management

•                    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

•                    Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent

•                    Minimum 2 years experience in client facing role
