Job Title: Network Administrator Location: Columbia, SC Duration:12 Months Direct Client Position Client: State of SC The Network and Systems Administrator is responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting a SC Agency's computer systems. The Network and Systems Administrator designs and installs LANs, WANs, Internet and intranet systems, and network segments. JOB REQUIREMENTS Qualifications and Experience requirements of the Network and Systems Administrator: * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology related field a plus * Industry Certifications a plus such as: Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA); CompTIA Network+. * Minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience as an Administrator on a medium sized network of servers, desktop systems, and communications devices using current technologies. * Experience directly related to deploying, building, designing, optimizing, and maintaining Microsoft products such as: Windows Server 2003/2008/2008 R2/2012; Active Directory, GPO; DHCP, DNS; Microsoft Exchange Server; Updates/Upgrades/Patching; IIS. * Demonstrated experience of Switches, Routers and Firewall configuration. Experience configuring VPNs for remote access. * Experience in backup and disaster recovery. * Safety awareness & commitment at the workplace. * Interpersonal: Capacity to develop good working relationships with superiors & work colleagues within the organization. * Problem Solving: Perform troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations. Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning. * Self-Management: Able to adjust priorities in a changing work environment. Must be able to work without direct supervision. * Communication: Excellent communication skills are required to function. * Technical: Server Performance Tuning, Solid Knowledge of SQL, MS .NET, Network Performance Tuning, LAN Knowledge, and Network Design & Implementation.
