These systems support the collection and analysis of current pavement data and provide an integrated method for annually scheduling the required maintenance work. The scheduling of pavement improvements in the PMSS depends on a number of technology solutions which have yet to be developed and implemented to better integrate PMS and PMSS. These systems rely on a heavily normalized set of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases, making analysis and reporting of data by the end user difficult. In addition, the PMS application relies on SQL to perform many of its functions and calculations. As the needs of the PMS Users change, modification of this SQL code must take place to accommodate these needs. The PMS application also depends on the import of data from other internal and external systems. Import routines frequently need to be developed or modified to accommodate new or changing data import requirements, and to provide the functionality necessary to insure that imported data meets the user’s quality assurance requirements. VDOT- IT has need of a person who can develop technology solutions to better meet the Maintenance Division business needs and improve integration of PMS with PMSS. Note: As is often required in support of 24 X 7 Production applications, on-site participation in implementation activities outside normal working hours is to be expected. Responsibilities: *local candidates strongly preferred *the client will conduct ONLY in-person interviews, NO Skype, NO exceptions VDOT- IT seeks an Oracle Database Administrator to support mainly the Pavement Management System and other databases. This individual will be responsible for Installing Oracle software and designing, creating and administering the databases. Work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability, security and optimum performance. Assist Development teams to improve the performance of SQL and Databases. Creation & maintenance of tables/Columns/Indexes to ensure that the designed applications are functional and perform well. To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime. Responsible for providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management. Minimum of 10 years experience in Oracle Database design, development and Administrative support with different operating system level, Windows, Unix, Linux Minimum of 8 to 10 years experience in Oracle Relational Database 10g, 11g and 12c (optional) including administer Relational databases, Schemas, Indexes, views, materialized views, synonyms, procedures & database triggers Knowledge of Oracle spatial data procedures and concepts is preferred, Highly desired of 5 to 6 Years Minimum of 8 Years of experience with Oracle technologies ( Security, Partitioning, SQL and DB Performance Tuning, Memory Management, statistics gathering, auditing) Minimum of 5 years experience in Oracle RAC Administration, ASM, AWR, Data guard, Standby databases and Grid Control Administration.
