*Firmware Engineer* Houston TX 6+ months *Description* As a firmware engineer in Core BIOS group, you will design, develop, debug foundational UEFI system firmware to provide innovative solutions to our customers and leveraged by other BIOS teams within. You will work in an exciting, high profile, team-oriented, and fast-paced environment. You will work with the latest unreleased hardware and software technologies and will have excellent opportunities to constantly learn new cutting edge technologies. Ideally, you have background in software, firmware, and hardware. You must be experienced in C programming and interested in low-level code development. You must have solid troubleshooting skills and a strong drive to reach root cause on difficult technical issues. You need to be team-oriented, be innovative, possess a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, be quality-conscious, and have excellent communication and technical skills. *Responsibilities* · Codes and programs enhancements, updates, and changes for portions and subsystems of firmware, including DSP, embedded code, EFI drivers, EFI applications and BIOS/UEFI · Executes established test plans and protocols for assigned portions of code; identifies, logs, and debugs assigned issues. · Develops understanding of and relationship with internal and outsourced development partners on firmware design and development. · Participates as a member of project team of other firmware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for low to moderately-complex products. *Qualifications* Education · Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science · Master’s Degree is a plus Desired Experience and knowledge 6 – 8 years of experience experience in firmware development or Active-x. experience with UEFI highly desirable Strong C and troubleshooting skill are a must. · Experience with BIOS, firmware, microcontrollers, embedded systems or other low level code. · Interest in working with in-target probes, debuggers, protocol analyzers, and oscilloscopes. · Knowledge of computer hardware and software architecture. · Knowledge of PC industry standards.
