Job Description Client seeks an energetic programmer with proficiency in the area of application development and support. This applicant must be highly motivated to provide system support, meet project deadlines and to handle technology challenges. The Client Information Technology Department is searching for a qualified candidate to join a dynamic projectteam that supports and develops systems for intermodal rail operations. This position provides the opportunity for the individual to be involved in innovative systems development efforts to optimize intermodal rail operations and to work closely with end-users who are engaged in the fastest growing rail sector. This position will also include 24x7 support on a rotating basis for mission critical applications and escalated problem tickets. Education Qualification: 4-yr College Degree preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics Job Responsibilities The incumbent will be responsible for the following: Provide high quality code (and support) for a mission critical application Use of strong problem solving and analysis skills for debugging purposes Provide all of the functions required of a developer (including good documentation, thorough testing, change control practices, SDLC use, etc.) Use of good verbal and written communication skills when interacting with end-users, co-workers, managers, etc. Provide a high level of initiative and attention to detail during daily operations. Promote strong teamwork ethic and customer support focus.
