*Position Description*

*Description/Duties:*
· Works in a fast-paced and complex *Business Object Data Integrator
* data warehouse environment carrying out ETL design, ETL design
documentation, design presentation, ETL development, ETL testing, ETL data
migration from development to test to production, and repository creation &
management.
· Works with business users and subject matter experts to understand
requirements, conducts data profiling, creates source to target mappings and
transformations.
· Reviews and monitors data loaded into the data warehouse for
accuracy.
· Troubleshoots and tunes existing data warehouse applications.
· Automates Data Integrator and Linux processes. Assists in
establishing enforcing ETL standards and architecture for the project and
ensures that the ETL requirements are adequately understood and documented.

*Experience and Skills:*
- Minimum of three years of BusinessObjects Data Integrator experience
including: design, creation, maintenance and troubleshooting of multiple
jobs, scheduling, and use of various triggers supported by DI.
- Experienced with establishing data mappings, transformations and
workflows.
- Minimum of seven years of experience with data warehouse lifecycles
including the design and building of data models to support business
reporting;
- Very strong knowledge of SQL, especially stored procedures;
- 6 years of proven record of taking designs and immediately delivering
based upon them, and showing initiative in troubleshooting ETL issues and
providing innovative ETL solutions;
- Experience in Red Hat (Linux) or Unix and Windows environment
preferred;
- Able to translate requirements into ETL and database designs;
- Experience with data modeling theory such as star schema, snowflake
schema, facts, dimensions, bridge tables, conformed dimensions,
snapshots,
slowly changing dimensions, and aggregate tables, and with
working with data
modelers to improve data warehouse designs;
- Experience in designing strategies for ETL business rules and exception
handling;
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills;
- Track record providing consistent documentation, to update
documentation;
- Track record of providing status updates and progress reports;
- Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate and support IT project
and infrastructure teams;
- Ability to train lesser skilled staff to understand developed ETL;
- Must be willing to commute to Washington, D.C.

*Desired:*
· BusinessObjects Certification is desirable;
· Experience with Informatica (or similar ETL tool) and Data
Modeling
· Experience with Informix a plus;
· Demonstrated planning skills, and experience providing Level of
Effort (LOE) and schedule estimation a plus;
*Education: A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required. *
