*Position Title: Sr. Java Developer (Grails)
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: Long term contract
MAX RATE :$50/hr on C2C*
*Additional supporting information:*
Will provide technical design for projects. This is a major requirement
when working with offshore resources.
Provide technical assistance with environment setup\configuration.
Provide guidance regarding tech-related processes such as development
builds, testing, etc.
Liaison for information\direction regarding process or technical changes
within the organization (i.e.: build procedures, coding standards, etc).
Review prototypes.
Provide technical and process mentoring.
Perform code reviews.
Estimate project work. Review project estimates of team members.
Design and estimation for pre-governance AFE work.
Assist Project Manager in finalizing project schedule.
Could be involved with several projects at one time in regards to design
and support.
Will NOT manage people.
Develop technical direction for the project and ensure technical quality of
the code delivered.
*ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:*
Education level: Bachelor's Degree
Course of Study/Major: Information Systems or Computer Science
Related Work Experience: 6-8 years
*Technical:*
Excellent knowledge and considerable development experience with the
following:
JAVA (J2EE Entity and Stateless Session Beans, J2EE Security, JSP, Servlets)
Grails/Groovy
HTML/Javascript/Ajax
Hibernate
*Considerable experience with the following tools\technologies or
equivalent:*
Clear Case - source code version control
GIT - source code version control
IntelliJ – IDE
*Experience with Websphere application servers.*
Knowledge of relational database structure and design. Experience with
Oracle databases is preferred.
Ability to create and modify SQL queries.
Understanding of software development lifecycles\methodologies (Rational
Rose).

*General Description :
*This position will support the testing, development and implementation of
clients new global production tracking system. Knowledge of the entire
software development life cycle is a must. The ability to work in a team
environment and independently while still meeting targets is important.
Writes, compiles, modifies application code and provides Level 5
application support for production environments. Develops and/or acquires
test data and runs tests to determine the accuracy of programs.
*Requirements/Must Have :*
ANSI C, C++ - Java
Socket Programming
Redhat Linux / HP-UNIX
BASH Shell Scripting - PostgreSQL (A Plus But Not Required),
PL/SQL - Oracle - Mainframe skills (JCL, JOBTRAC, ENDEVOR) a plus
*Skills & Qualification :*
Other than standard guidelines, procedures and assignments, little
direction may be given. The candidate should be able to manage their time
and assignments. Thoroughness in completing tasks is imperative. The
candidate will be interacting with the rest of the Information Systems
team, receiving instructions and sharing information, but will also be in
contact with other groups coordinating changes and understanding
requirements.
