This role provides assistance in ongoing maintenance and production support of existing application programs including “off-the-shelf” packages and/or packages developed internally. The applications developer II will develop and enhance applications of moderate complexity and will perform application and data analysis. *Primary Responsibilities* · Participate in application code review, embracing the philosophy of loosely coupled, agile, reusability, etc; make recommendations based on knowledge of new technology trends. · Design a series of related programs for an application development framework and develop into an integrated application system. · Coordinate requests to migrate program with manager and IT operations personnel. · Analyze and revise application systems and programming logic problems. · Maintain knowledge and understanding of departmental organization and primary functions. · Assist with the design of moderately complex business applications based on requirements specifications and supporting technical documents including use cases and non-functional requirements. · Observe all technical and architectural standards as previously developed. · Develop user interface program logic with suitable error handling and system documentation. · Prepare test data and test plans, assist with system and integration testing, perform unit testing and debug programs. · Develop data conversion plans including data mapping in coordination with database administrators. · Develop scripts for automated job scheduling and coordinate pertinent details with IT operations. · Communicate knowledge of systems, tools and system interfaces to team members. · Build and maintain positive rapport and partnerships with peers. · Maintain awareness of technology trends. · Research problems/issues referring to technical manuals as needed to solve problems. · Participate in staff rotations of “on-call” responsibilities. · Perform other job-related duties as assigned. *Critical Competencies and Skills* People Merchant and Brand Business and Results · Builds Trusting & Loyal Relationships · Contributes to Team Success · Explains & Provides Feedback to Others · Communicates with Impact & Candor · Respects Individual Differences · Earns Customer Loyalty · Adapts to Change · Manages Work · Displays Business & Functional Acumen · Clarifies & Achieves Results *Minimum Qualifications* · Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; or equivalent experience. · Demonstrated working knowledge and experience in Java programming – *Java, SQL, DB2, *Object Orientation, · Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and utilization of n-tier application development practices. · Compliance with all company policies and procedures. · Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently. · Ability to understand and follow English instructions. · Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same. · Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check. *Preferred Qualifications* · Two (2) years experience in an applications developer role. · Ability to operate independently and manage complex assignments. · Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey complex and detailed technical information to a diverse population. · Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines. · An innovative self-starter with the initiative to learn new processes. · Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and time management skills. · Excellent organizational and planning skills. · Intense focus on detail and accuracy of work.
