Please include your employer details as well. *Job Title* Automation tester *Project Location* Whippany, NJ *Duration* 6 months /Contract *Skills Required and Job Description:* *MOI: -Telephonic + Face to Face* * Responsible: * - Develop test cases to validate new functionality - Work closely with business analysts and developers to ensure appropriate test coverage and identify gaps if any. - Ensure functionality is tested against requirements, validate that the solution is fit for purpose and supports the full end-to-end client business process. - Detailed manual testing of new functionality & regression of existing functionality. This includes Server & Client testing. Validation will be performed against the server & java logs, database, XML messages between the client & server as well as the front end applications. - Use extensive SQL and UNIX commands to confirm that the data reported is as expected. - Automate testing effort using toolset such as QTP and Load Runner, where possible. - Server side automation for testing critical trading system services, such as regulatory reporting feeds, back office systems. - Perform comprehensive analysis of any error to assist in working out the root cause of the issue prior to recording in a defect tracking tool. - Participate in a culture of "knowledge sharing" within the project team. - Work closely with the test manager and help with managing other projects in the area. *Mandatory* - Demonstrate their experience of working on previous successful testing projects. - Demonstrate their in-depth understanding and knowledge of Test Methodologies and the full SDLC. - Must be able to demonstrate strong business skills - Strong Database Testing skills (writing SQL Queries – includes joins etc.) - Knowledge of scripting (VB, VBScript, Shell, perl etc) - *Previous investment banking experience* - Results driven Able to deliver good quality accurate solutions to tight time-scales - Conscientious Always give 100% to tasks assigned - Versatile -Able to multi-task - Team Player Must be able to work with and participate within a large professional team - Professional – Expect to work the hours the job demands - Quick learner - Ability to prioritize and organize - Strong Leadership skills - Strong communication skill Strong problem solving skills *Technologies* As part of the testing team, technical skills are expected for trouble shooting and creating tools to improve process efficiency.
