Our *SQL Developer* contractor is ending on 10/31/2014 due to the 2-year tenure limit with *Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois*. This is currently an exclusive requirement with us. Will not phone/skype to hire.* Position: 2014-10-066 Location: Chicago, IL Start Date: ASAP End Date: Initially until 12/31/14 but project is in funding review and it has been tagged as a project that will carryover well in 2015. Direct responsibility for the design, maintenance, and support of Data Warehouse Systems. The developer requires a high level of analytical and creative skills and an in-depth knowledge of database structure, data warehouse configuration, methodology, design, and modeling. The developer’s typical duties includes but not limited to designing and building data warehouses, designing ETL architectures and procedures, performing analysis, SQL scripting, tuning and optimization on very large (multi-terabyte) databases, managing capacity planning and performance analysis, working with application developers to design and develop database objects and structures according to project specifications, addressing data quality issues with users, vendors and management, analyzing organizational data requirements and creating logical and physical Data Flow Diagrams and Entity Relationship Diagrams using tools such as Visio and Erwin. Must be able to work with and within a cross-functional development, QA and production team. Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with at least 5 years of related work experience. Required - Microsoft SQL server administration Proven problem solving and debugging skills Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical ability. SQL developer experience. SQL programming, writing stored procedures, data modeling knowledge, writing SSIS, writing DTSs, Expert level knowledge in SQL programming. MSSQL 2005 Certified.
