position: Java Architect position *Location: St Louis, MO* Local Candidates preferred. Duration: 6 months+ Candidates have to be Local and USC, GC & EAD only The successful candidate will work with the development team (8+ developers) to develop new features. The person must possess excellent leadership, communication and Architecture skills in a Java environment. At least 8 years of software development experience * At least 3+ years as a Java Architect *Proven Leadership skills * Minimum 4 years experience using Java and preferably 1 year of C++ experience. * At least 4 years of experience using relational databases such as Oracle / DB2 / SQL Server etc. * Minimum 3 years OO analysis and design experience using Design Patterns and UML. At least 2 years of experience using an OO Modeling tool such as Rational Rose or Together. * At least 4 years experience developing multi-tier and client-server applications. * Past experience with XML Parsing (using DOM or SAX) * 1 year of experience using Hibernate and Spring * Experience with a software development methodology such as RUP or XP * At least 1 year of experience in the use of JUnit based testing tools. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. * Enthusiastic contributor with a real "go-getter, can-do" attitude who things proactively and delivers high quality software. * Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of the team. * A BS in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
