Job Title: *Java Developer with Electronic Trading systems and Financial
Markets Knowledge*
Duration: *Durham**, NC*
Location: *6+ Months*
Bill Rate: $*40/hr *
*MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE: *
Strong Java developer who will be able to design and develop applications
for trading and post-trade applications.
In addition, applicants must be able to make necessary enhancements and
fixes to existing applications, provide second-level support to the above
applications and participate in design, development and code review
discussions within the group.

*SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES:* (e.g. shifts travel overseas, hours):
Staff may occasionally need to be on calls with other locations in other
time zones (Singapore, London, Pune) and some weekend work on production
releases, but no actual shift work.
*EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: *
Bachelors Degree
IT / Science / Maths / Engineering based degree
*WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND: *
- Essential Desirable
- Minimum 5 years IT experience
- Financial markets knowledge, especially Listed Derivatives / Futures,
Foreign Exchange, Swaps, stock Options and Bonds.
*TECHINICAL/BUSINESS SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: *
Essential Desirable
- Minimum 5 years experience of Java development
- Hands on experience on Core Java development
- Experienced with multi-threading, design patterns
- Experience with Working on a high-performance, high-throughput
application.
- *SQL knowledge (Sybase/Oracle) programming *
- *Perl/Shell scripting *
- *Understands Unix OS fundamentals *
- Experience with *Swing development*
- Experience in using a pub/sub oriented message layer
- Experience with post-trade systems for back office flows
- Experience on *Electronic Trading systems*
- Development experience on *C++ or C#*
*OTHER REQUIREMENTS: *
Essential Desirable
Excellent communication skills
Must be able to work independently and as part of a wider team
