Need Locals Functional Responsibilities: Specific tasks include but are not limited to: Design, develop and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases, tools and infrastructure Run regression tests and perform both white and black box testing against releases Perform all aspects of verification, including functional, structural, regression, load and system testing Document, troubleshoot and isolate problems encountered during testing Design, develop and implement complex test automation both at the functional and system level Work with other members of the QA team to improve our processes, tools, methods, effectiveness and efficiency. Understand the banks Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodology. Understand how Support tasks fits with the SDLC process. Familiarize with the applications, tools, feeds, databases, and batch files etc that are being supported. Knowledge of SQL would be an added advantage. Test both in-house and vendor applications. Experience and understanding of all aspects relating to support and testing test environment set-up, test data, test scripts. Comply with knowledge base management processes. Ensure that the knowledge base is maintained with high standard. *SKILLS: * Required Skills: Thorough knowledge of using Mercury QC and QTP. Has a continued desire to make Support a career choice. Has experience of the software development lifecycle. Excellent communicating skills and experience supporting end users with their day-to-days issues related to trading/settlement processes. Ability to coordinate cohesively with the development/support/business analysis team Development skills in one or more of the following languages, minimum 1 year per: 1. Any QA Automated tools 2. Any test planning tools 3. Excel 4. C, C++, C# 5. Visual Basic *6. HTML & XML * Exposure to database scripting and using simple SQL statements and using any of the database IDEs like SQLDBX, PL/SQL developer, DB Artisan etc. Desired Skills: C++/C# programming experience would be desirable. Financial or Banking support environment experience would be beneficial. Knowledge of the investment banking or banking sector support environment would be beneficial. Familiarity with banking applications would be beneficial. Knowledge of Mortgage Backed Securities would be added advantage. WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND: Experience/Background 3+ years of experience in developing or testing software application Willingness and enthusiasm to perform in this specific role that is a combination of QA and Support specialist. Background in QA methodologies and experience developing and executing comprehensive test suites for system software. Can produce high quality user and support documentation Ideal candidate will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Genuine enjoyment of software QA work.
