Please find the following requirement for 2 positions - Oracle DBA Duration: 6+ Months Plymouth, MN *Mode of interview: Face to Face - need local candidates only* *Job Description: * · Individual will provide database administration for a variety of mission-critical custom and packaged software applications. · *Primary Responsibilities: * 1. Designing, implementing and monitoring database functionality to ensure stable environments 2. Performing database administration and management activities in a safe, recoverable and professional manner that ensures the optimal operation of all database environments 3. Uphold enterprise policy guidelines and recommend new and improved guidelines to ensure compatibility and better service for end-users 4. Identifying and initiating resolutions to user problems/concerns associated with database server equipment (hardware and software) 5. Identifying potential service level problems before they occur and notifying appropriate parties 6. Staying abreast of the most current release of Oracle, including compatibility issues with operating systems, third party software and utilities 7. Testing and evaluating new products as relevant 8. Logging support cases as necessary and effectively work with Oracle Corporation 9. Maintaining up-to-date plans for disaster recovery and fail over capabilities and test as required 10. Performing capacity monitoring and short and long-term capacity planning in collaboration with development resources, system administrators and system architects 11. Proposing solutions, identifying tools, and generating procedures to ensure an efficient, consistent repeatable environment 12. Using and deploying RDBMS software, data management tools and utilities, data warehouse and replication tools 13. Maintaining security according to best practices and generating security solutions that balance auditor requirements with user requirements 14.
