Position: Release Manager Duration 4-6 months Location: Bay Area,CA Rate – open *Release Manager** * * * The primary responsibilities of this role are to establish, communicate, manage, maintain and promote an efficient release management process. The Release Manager will own and evolve the release management process be as well be responsible for managing individual releases across all eCommerce projects and lifecycles. The Release Manager will work closely with the QA team to define and plan the content of each release, the Development and build teams to understand their requirements for release management (documentation, source control, etc.,) and will work with other IT teams (Technical writers, architects , infrastructure team for Source Control, etc.) to ensure eCommerces release management requirements are met. The associate in this position has significant responsibility for release management and is expected to work independently with minimal management direction. The role may also include some amount of project management. General Responsibilities · Plan and coordinate Build and release schedules · Create releases in source control and conducting build verification and validation. · Create and communication release documentation. · Participates in build and deployment actives as needed. · Key participant in architecture planning for source control, build management and deployment process. · Participates in problem management and major incident managementwith other teams as needed. · Creates and maintains process documentation. People Management Leads members of project team when project manager. Competencies Self-starter, Strong analytical skills, Ability to multi-task, manage and prioritize activities, Strong interpersonal and communication skills, Strong Technical Aptitude, and Team-oriented communication approach. *Minimum 2+ years of Java code development or deployment and/or 2+ years of Middleware experience*. Familiarity with BEA application server, Perforce source control software and Linux in a development environment is a great plus. Off-Hours Support? On Call 24x7 for major releases and major incident management.
