DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR * BA/BS in computer science, business administration, mathematics or engineering or equivalent experience. * Significant (3+ years) primary database administration on large scale database systems providing critical business functions. * Significant (5+ years) experience administering Oracle (9i or 10g) databases. * Familiarity (1+ year) with systems administration practices. Must understand complexities of installation of a database on given hardware and storage platforms. * Experience (2+ years) of administering databases in a highly available environment. Must be capable of installing and supporting Oracle's Real Application Clusters (RAC). * Experience (2+ years) with Oracle's RMAN backup and recovery technologies. * Experience (2+ years) with Oracle's Data Guard. * Demonstrated interpersonal skills including communication, facilitation, and effective meeting management, agenda development along with strong verbal and written skills. * Personal * Attention to detail, ability to work with business and technical team-members in a dynamic environment . * Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work with personnel of various levels of technical background. Desired: * Experience with large academic health care enterprise projects or operations * Experience with Tivoli Storage Manager. * Bourne, Korn or PERL scripting. * Experience with Oracle 10g. * Experience working with complex storage environments.
