Skills: Forms (3+ years experience) Oracle DB (understand tables) Informix (plus but not mandatory) Designer (plus but not mandatory) (will use Designer to generate forms ----- will capture design in Designer and have it for future) Triggers Functions Current: 10 table Informix database w/ records that need to be migrated to Oracle Forms. Project Scope: Review & understand Informix DB and look at existing text based screens (not currently in forms) to understand what needs to be displayed. Interview and interact with client. (needs to ask good & clear questions to receive good & clear answers) Develop a migration plan, help develop Forms, integrate Forms on web, test it and teach client how to do it (knowledge transfer). Needs strong communication so consultant can probe / ask the right & clear Qs and get strong clear answers in return. Education/Experience: Desired education: Bachelors Position Description * This position works daily onsite with CLIENT developers to design, develop, test and assist with the conversion of existing Informix application screens to Oracle Forms * Provide assistance to CLIENT developers with the conversion of existing Informix Perform Screens to ORACLE Forms, web or server based. * Solid understanding of how to use Oracle Developer Toolset (FORMS) to design, develop, and test a forms interface to a small database system * Good understanding of how to write embedded PL*SQL triggers, functions, etc. into Oracle Forms as needed to enhance forms functionality and performance * Provides support with modifying existing Informix programs in a Solaris 10 UNIX environment * Good knowledge of software development best practices and sound coding standards * Responsible for applications program changes so programs can accurately access a newly developed, yet small, CLIENT Oracle database * Support CLIENT with identifying and making needed code changes with hands on coding, unit testing, integration testing and correction of application deficiencies noted during testing * Provide basic inline applications documentation for all developed code and code changes Knowledge, Technical Skills, and Ability: * Experience with development and/or conversion of legacy Informix programs to Oracle Forms * Experience working with Oracle Developer Suite (Forms) version 10 * 3+ years hands-on software development experience with Oracle Forms Other: * Knowledge of INFORMIX forms would be a big PLUS but is not mandatory * Excellent customer relations, English communication skills, time-management, decision-making, and basic task organizational skills are a must.
