Data Modeler The candidate will be involved in the analysis, design and development of enterprise-class software. The candidate will develop and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models and participate in functional requirements and design sessions. The candidate must be capable of understanding data strategy on an enterprise level, implement the departments data architecture on a project level, and have the excellent communication skills necessary to successfully interact with business analysts, data architects, software architects, project managers, technical leads, software developers, and testers. This role is responsible for the technical implementation of the database, and will ensure the data is compliant with overall system architecture. Specific responsibilities will include: Development and maintenance of conceptual, logical and physical data models. Work with business analyst and subject matter experts to understand informational requirements. Investigate source systems to locate and understand existing subject areas across client's group Adhere to data architecture standards and strategies for designing solutions Develop data migration strategies. Provide expert solutions to design and develop new ETL processes Develop impact analysis for database changes including software development change estimates. Communicate data requirements to the development team and other stakeholders Required Skills: The candidate must possess the following technical experience: 5+ years as a Data Architect or Data Modeler within IT project environments. Full project life-cycle from requirements gathering to testing. Experience in data modelling and data architecture principles. Experience in SQL Server 2005. Experience in using tools such as Erwin, Enterprise Architect (nice to have). Understanding/experience in working within an iterative development environment.
