Project Manager Job Description: * Plan and manage project tasks and deliverables. * Perform as the primary point of contact to manage both the internal and the external project teams. * Work across all departments and interact with department heads, management, board and vendor Grantium. * Responsible for the overall management and execution of the project. * Serve as both the Business Project Manager and the Technical Project Manager and hold ultimate responsibility for the outcome of the project. * Create and maintain project schedule and database documentation. * Maintain a current, updated roll-out plan that details all activities that will be performed to complete the transition to the G3 system. * Provide leadership on the technical aspects of the contractual relationship with vendor and work closely with internal and external legal staff on all amendments to the Grantium agreement as well as all project activities that potentially have contractual implications. * Formulate a working plan for minimizing the time and duties required of the Science Officers and Grants Management staff on the Grantium Project Team in recognition of their workload outside of the Grantium Project. * Coordinate and conduct status, planning and management meetings and direct and coordinate communications among the stakeholders. Minimum qualifications: * At least five years of broad and extensive project management experience. * At least three years project management experience in the lead capacity Must demonstrate ability to: * Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. * Use interdisciplinary teams effectively in the conduct of the project. * Communicate realistic assessments of project status, balance competing priorities, and remain professional while saying "no" to unrealistic requests. * Reason logically and creatively and use a variety of analytical techniques to solve complex problems. * Provide quality assurance for the IT deliverables received from various consultants and vendors working on the Grantium Project including those who are programming and coding in J2EE and XML-based solutions, as well those creating Crystal-based reports. * Write thorough and well-documented reports (without any administrative support). * Manage tight deadlines. Highly desirable: * Possession of a current, valid Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification. * Experience in grants management field. * Experience with Grantium, Inc. systems. * Recent and successful experience in managing projects of similar size, scope and complexity. * History of working to rally executive support. * Understanding of software development and configuration cycles, including software architecture, design, development, testing, data integration and implementation. * Information technology skills, including ability to work with databases, database interfaces and database models, and to create technical architecture plans.
