If not, please DO NOT submit the candidates. * *Job Description:* We are looking for a Unix System Administrator for a position in Las Vegas, NV. *DUTIES*: - The successful candidate must have a solid hands-on working knowledge of Internet technologies and an extensive work experience as a Unix system administrator. - Implement recommended infrastructure improvements (as well as provide best practices recommendations) to establish and maintain the stability, reliability and availability of the hardware, software infrastructure and data Field and resolve day to day trouble tickets from users as per SLA. Interface with h/w and s/w vendors to resolve issues. - Define and implement system-monitoring tools to provide early warning of potential problems. Work with team to standardize, simplify, and consolidate environments to drive down overhead and cost of support. Outsource responsibilities to data centers and other departments with appropriate core competencies. Maintaining daily operations logs to track problems and analyze existing processes. Implement streamlining solutions via: process reengineering, automation, scripts etc. - Duties are varied and wide-ranging. - Shiftwork may be required. *SKILLS*: - 5+ years of Unix Solaris systems administration. - Install/setup/maintain/configure/troubleshoot: NFS, Veritas NetBackup and Volume Manager. - Ability to craft and deliver professionally structured and written customer communications with no supervision. Must have a demonstrated track record of customer facing work. - Excellent automation skills - ability to create or modify test scripts. Prior knowledge with scripting languages and automation tools required. - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Self motivated problem-solver, able to work with minimal supervision; team player. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. - Previous history an ISP services, technical and/or operational analytical skills including general understanding of web and client-server architectures.
