Short Description:
Software Process Engineer is responsible for implementing & supporting a set
of standard software engineering processes used by Department of Labor. SPE
participates in the entire life-cycle of software process improvement
initiatives.
Complete Description:
SPS 3
Years of Relevant Experience: 7 years total experience; 5 years in software
development and testing
Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study
Role Description:
Ingetgrate hardware components, software and networking products in
multi-vendor environment.
Re-hosting mainframe applications to mini, micro or LAN platforms.
Conversion from proprietary to open computing environment.
Migration to Windows, UNIX, LInux or other platform architecture.
Integration of LAN/WAN, minicomputer and other platforms.
Networking workgroup packaged software and integrate with existing
applications to build effective workflow management systems.
Installation/set up of SUN UNIX servers for production environment.
Manage large mission critical application systems.
Capable of independently completing all tasks relevant to
migration/integration process.
Communicate effectively with suppliers as appropriate.
Work with internal customers and others to identify direction of software
process.
Identify knowledge in a form that is reusable.
