Hi,
This is my direct client opening for Sr. Project Manager III - New York, NY.
This is a 6 months contract position.Candidates need to interview in person
and should be in the NY area.
Scope of Services:
- Work with the Mayor's Office of the Criminal Justice Coordinator's and
other city agencies in the requirements gathering process to determine high
level designs for Phase 5 of the DNA HITS system.
- Manage and oversee the development of high-level systems design, class
diagrams, sequence diagrams and activity diagrams.
- Coordinate the application coding and designing effort.
- Coordinate and oversee the testing and implementation efforts.
- Training end users on the application.
- Participate in team meetings and give status updates to CJC Managers.
*Architecture/Infrastructure Assessment*
· Review existing system documentation and work with key staff at
the client to understand existing application architecture and
infrastructure and assess system performance and capacity for long-term
growth.
· Recommend upgrades and strategy for City consideration in light of
assessment findings, application enhancements that are targeted, and
transaction volume increase that is projected.
*Mandatory Skills/Experience *
-Minimum 8 years serving as a hands-on technical project manager overseeing
teams of 10 individuals or more through the full SDLC;
-experience overseeing vendors in this capacity a plus.
-Experience integrating highly heterogeneous environments with legacy
mainframes.
-Working knowledge of integration technologies and standards such as Web
Services/SOAP, CORBA, RMI, COM+;
-Familiarity with a wide range of data sources, formats, and connectors
including ISAM, flat files, XML, EDI, ODBC and JDBC;
-working knowledge in database design and development on a variety of
platforms (e.g. Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Access).
-Working knowledge of a variety of programming languages, architectures, and
standards (e.g., J2EE-Java, n-tier architecture, service oriented
architecture).
-Expertise in desktop software (MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) is
required.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly
articulate to all project members and stakeholders;
-must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical
resources.
-Must take initiative, be a decisive decision-maker and show confidence in
decisions made;
-must collaborate with others and gain group consensus on team and
stakeholder issues as appropriate.
-Solid knowledge of testing tools and techniques.
*The following experience is desirable but not required:*
-Prior government (NYC preferred) experience managing and implementing web
based applications.
-Experience working with Criminal Justice Agencies.
