This is my direct client opening for *Java Developer* - New York, NY. This
is a 6 months contract position. The Hourly rate is $45/hr. Candidates need
to interview in person and should be in the NY area.
We require Sr. Developers with the following responsibilities:
- Lead the development of systems design; this includes specifying the
component packaged and custom applications, class diagrams, sequence
diagrams, activity diagrams, etc.
- Communicating risks and issues to project management
- Coding and designing application
- Using best practices for development
- Create/document deployment procedures
- Create/document operational procedures
* *The resources will be responsible for the following deliverables:
- All documentation regarding system design
- Detailed System Architecture Diagram
- Data-flow Diagram
- Class Diagrams
- Activity and State Diagrams
- Component Diagrams
- Deployment Diagrams
- Configurations
- Build and unit tested modules for the system
- Use cases and misuse cases for handoff to QA team
* MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE **Note: candidates who do not have the
mandatory skills will not be considered.*
- A minimum of 8 years of experience development for large-scale
enterprise applications including 6 – 8 years in Java/J2EE;
- Working experience with JAVA 1.5
- Leadership experience with Java development
- Spring MVC Architecture experience
- Web service development experience;
- Experience with relational databases preferably Oracle;
- Strong Knowledge of BEA Weblogic, UNIX, Solaris, and Linux;
- Experience with Hibernate
- Novell LDAP knowledge;
- Ability to produce technical documentation;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required;
- Knowledge of testing tools and techniques;
* DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE*
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent
experience is desired;
- Sun Certified Web Component Developer
- Sun Certified Java Developer
- Knowledge of Portals preferably Vignette Application Portal;
- Experienced with formal SDLCs and business analysis methodologies;
Working knowledge of business analysis documentation standards;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to
clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders; must be a team
player who works well with technical and non-technical resources;
- Must take initiative, be a decisive decision-maker and show confidence
in decisions made;
- Must be able to take strategic direction from executive management and
participate in strategic planning activities throughout the lifetime of the
project;
- Must be able to see tasks through to completion without significant
guidance.
