Procurement Project Manager Duration: 2 Years Location: Sacramento, CA The District seeks a highly experienced Business Technology Procurement Project Manager to support the development and implementation of a comprehensive program including implementation of the project plan and evaluation of the effectiveness of all aspects of the improvements. This plan is expected to include an education piece and communication piece for SMUD employee adoption. Also the deliverable will include an assessment of our existing technology used in the procurement process and will leverage those existing SMUD software tools to their fullest functionality if possible and cost effective. MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS -15+years experience in the evaluation, improvement and implementation of highly effective Business Technology Procurement processes. -Documented positive results in Business Technology Procurement Processes. -Must demonstrate and provide evidence of having specifc business positive impacts in optimizing procurement processes including reduces cycle time and realized cost benefits. CANDIDATES NOT MEETING THE MANDATORY QUALIFICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS -Experience evaluating existing Business Technology Procurement Processes. -Experience in development of effective, cost sensitive Business Technology Procurement Processes recommendations that provide reduced cycle time, improve visibility of the bid picture for leveraging existing procurement partnerships and software to reduce overall Information Technology procurement needs and improved customer satisfaction. -Educating and communicating the need to improve an effective communication strategy for the implementation. DELIVERABLES for this assignment include, but are not limited to: -Review of existing process (including current software used) with recommendations based on benchmarking of proven effective Business Technology Procurement Processes while incorporating the necessary regulatory/legal requirements specific to SMUD. -Interviews and focus group design, facilitating, and analysis of outcome with recommendations for optimizing the Business Technology Procurement Processes. -Provide strategy and project plan for evaluation, improvement and implementation of highly effective Business Technology Procurement processes while leveraging existing software tools as much as possible. -Provide recommendations for additional software solutions that may be required/indicated after review of SMUD's existing software used in the Business Technology Procurement process. -Provide a Business Technology Procurement process that is repeatable, sustainable and long term focused. -Provide training and communications to enable end users to successfully adopty, implement and maintain newly defined Business Technology Procurement process.
