*Software Build Engineer Technical Requirement:*
- At least 2 years of Software Build Engineering or similar experience
- Extensive experience in build systems design and execution
- Mastery in debugging and troubleshooting during builds and deployments
- Experience working in cross-departmental teams and interacting
effectively with other members of the organization
- Experience leading development of build best practices in complex
environments
- Experience with Cruise Control, Subversion, Microsoft Visual Studio,
Cygwin and Make
- Experience or interest in mobile application development
*Job Responsibilities:*
- A Software Build Engineer is an expert in build systems design and
execution.
- The consultant will be responsible for designing and building a
continuous integration process, defining and coordinating configuration
management and release processes, managing branching and merging of the code
base, managing scheduling, execution and reporting for builds, preparing and
packaging production releases.
- Maintain software release versions, troubleshooting build and
deployment problems, maintaining relationships and providing effective
communication among all key stakeholders, maintaining build process
documentation, and working with QA and development teams to customize build
processes and requirements.
- Consultant must also be able to write build scripts for automation and
make files for development.
- The Software Build Engineer’s day-to-day activities include working
with project teams to define and implement build and continuous integration
processes that support project needs and requirements. In addition, he/she
will be responsible for monitoring nightly and automated builds and
troubleshooting issues whenever needed.
*Additional Required Qualifications:*
- Strong written/oral communication skills and a willingness to
contribute to build system documentation
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent work
experience is required
