Duration is 12 – 15 months Job Description from Client: The Senior Technical Project Manager is responsible facilitate the selection and implementation of a new database platform. Ideal candidate will have previous experience with one or more companies through a similar process and will have extensive BI and data warehousing background. Previous experience will include the on-time delivery of the project objectives. The Senior Technical Project Manager follows established project management methodologies throughout the projects. Core Responsibilities: · Ownership of complex product features and technical requirements for the new DW database platform for the life of the project. · Proactively work across business and technology organizations to refine requirements that accurately reflect the customer need, and evaluate project impacts. · Develop and communicate detailed business requirements through written documentation, process flows and use cases. · Help conclude decision making process for vendor evaluation · Lead vendor evaluation discussions and proof of concept testing scenarios · Responsible for developing overall project management strategy and working with discipline leads and project teams to execute on plans · Monitor day-to-day activities of the project team and ensure work is progressing as planned. Work with project team and be actively be involved in the work. · Manage schedules, budgets, assets, and overall project organization to ensure requirements and project deliverables dates are clearly communicated, understood and executed upon. · Effectively and efficiently plan and prioritize all deliverables and resources working across project(s) based on scope of work and project goals · Actively monitor project risks and scope creep to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address them in advance · Communicate and document project status and strategic recommendations to clients, team members and senior management on a regular basis; escalate issues accordingly via the appropriate channels · Follow established project management guidelines and processes to develop, maintain, and track project plans and milestones, conduct project meetings and report project status. · Manage infrastructure aspects of large business and development projects to ensure that they are delivered within time and budgetary guidelines. · Lead project status meetings to ensure good communication within the project team as well as ensure that meeting minutes and status updates are appropriately published to the team, stakeholders and interested parties.
