Individuals holding this position will be asked to work independently, or lead others on a project team, as assigned. - Incumbents will be asked to leverage their skills in developing the application’s integration points with a diverse set of existing systems; quality, functionality and performance will be in high demand. - The applicant must have a thorough understanding of the available technology, tools and existing designs. - They will be asked to collaborate with business staff, IT colleagues and other stakeholders to evaluate defined complex business requirements and processes, determine infrastructure and recommend solution options. - Work to develop business relationships and integrate activities with other IT departments as appropriate to ensure successful implementation and support project efforts. - Foster and maintain good relationships with business customers and IT colleagues to meet expected customer service levels - Designs and builds state of the art business applications and prepares technical specifications based on evaluation of business requirements. Defines and designs reusable components as appropriate. Appreciates architectural principles and standards for software development, data, and security - Analyzes impact of requirements outlined by business analysts and business stakeholders and delivers functional and technical solutions. Must consider usability and build for performance during all phases of development - Implements interface and component-based infrastructure designs and software to ensure coherence across applications. Coaches other application development staff in understanding the infrastructure design - Ensures that technologies used align with enterprise-wide technical architecture and ensure consistency across projects. Keeps abreast of changing technologies and provides technical expertise to other Software Engineers - Tests application and works with other team members in the testing and debugging of programs; participates in overall system and performance testing; supports implementation of application into production and post-production - Provides detailed, high quality documentation at appropriate level to allow for maintenance and extension of application.
