Role: Mid-Level Network Administrator Location: Wenatchee, WA - 2 hrs east of Seattle, WADuration: Contract Responsibilities ---------------- * Deployment, Configuration and Administration of network infrastructure with a focus on lab infrastructure (Extreme Networks, Cisco, Foundry, and Nortel switchgear) * Troubleshooting of a wide variety of Networking and Server issues. * Respond quickly, reliably, and effectively to the requests for support from users of the systems. * Seek out and suggest opportunities for improvement, including changes in technologies and procedures. * Research and evaluate new technologies and prepare plans to introduce new technologies into the environment. * Document and communicate status, procedures and plans. * Perform many additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Required Skills and Experience ------------------------------ * 4+ years of Network Administration experience * Good knowledge of vlans, spanning tree, and common network protocols like http, ftp, and ssh * Solid troubleshooting experience of both layer 2 and 3 issues, especially in multi-vendor environments * Comfortable with most aspects of computer hardware maintenance and operating system configuration and administration. * Good written and oral communication skills; capable of training users, and making presentations to an internal audience. * Independent problem-solving, self-direction. * A reputation for responsive and effective customer service Desired Skill and Experience ---------------------------- * Previous experience running or supporting networking in an Engineering or R&D lab environment * Certifications in Network and/or Systems Administration. * Cisco and Juniper configuration and administration experience * Experience with Enterprise-class servers such as HP ProLiant series. * Knowledge of VMware ESX Server or other virtualization solutions. * Informal project management skills. * Documentation writing skills.
