- Full Software Development Life Cycle Project Management Experience 5-10

Responsibilities Key Functions

1. Accountable for the results of the defined group. Responsible for
performance and compensation management of direct team and for providing
input for matrixed team members.

 

2. Responsible for the leadership, management, and control of projects and
programs which are highly complex and include many integration points.
Typically project cost may exceed $1 million dollars.

 

3. Provides oversight and leadership to the development of program/project
level estimates, plans, resource plans, and controls for projects throughout
all phases of the project life cycle which typically have more than 20
resources.

 

4. Manages and communicates status, risks, and issues of projects to key
stakeholders & sponsors and to senior leadership. Leads and facilitates
project steering committee meetings and project team meetings

 

5. Provides input to the development of program/project management
practices. Ensures consistent execution of project/program management
practices, governance standards, processes and metrics

 

6. Provide formalized, continuing work direction and leadership to assigned
project team(s), including scheduling, assignment of work and review of
project efforts. Assist Project Managers as needed.

 

7. Monitor project milestones and critical dates to identify potential
jeopardy of project schedule. Proactively assess project variances.
Implement change as necessary to ensure that the project remains within
specified time, cost and quality objectives. Keep management informed as
needed. Assist less-experienced personnel as needed.

 

8. Mentors project team members and Project Managers on project deliverables
and processes.

 

9. Assist in working with Vendor Management to negotiate contracts with
external vendors.
