Job Description: *Our client is looking for a Senior ETL developer type profile who has proven hands on experience in design and development of complex ETL solutions (preferably using IBM DataStage) with a solid BI/datawarehouse domain understanding, exposure to Microstrategy as a reporting tool is plus. * *Qualifications: The following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated:* · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Management or related discipline or equivalent work experience. · Minimum 7 + years demonstrated Technology experience in data warehousing. · Minimum 5+ years of experience in developing* *Microstrategy Reports · Fundamental understanding of relational database architecture, logical data modeling, dimensional data modeling and OLAP architecture · Demonstrated expertise in either ETL design and architecture and/or BI technologies · Expert understanding of database performance characteristics, high volume data handling processes and techniques · Demonstrated experience with commercial ETL products and BI platforms, preferably *Ascential DataStage* and *Microstrategy*. · Demonstrated experience in supporting mission critical high transaction volume database applications · Experience defining, implementing and managing organizational processes · Strong innovator who can continue to mature processes and technologies within the constraints of an early stage company · A team player – experience working with multiple teams · Retail and payments domain experience a plus. · Excellent strengths in time management and organization skills with an aptitude toward creative problem solving. · Proven self-starter · Track record of managing multiple complex tasks · Ability to be productive and effective within a matrix organization. · Information Technology and Business consulting experience is desired. · Excellent communicator – verbal and written skills required · Excellent Executive level communication skills * Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* * *- Work closely with onsite & offshore development teams - Support Data Warehouse production operations using *MicroStrategy*Suite (Desktop, Architect, Web, Narrowcast, Report Services, Dashboards, OLAP and Office) and *IBM Ascential DataStage* ETL Jobs - Develop various levels of reports and all objects involved in a report for user requirements, i.e. filters, metrics, templates - Design and develop new *ETL Jobs* in Ascential DataStage or change existing jobs to support new business changes - Engage with business users to define requirements, to prototype, and to troubleshoot *MicroStrategy* *reports*. - Effectively document application changes or new processes - Test and verify all reporting results and ETL Jobs - Interact effectively with DBA's, vendors, software providers and infrastructure - Design and develop dashboards for executive and senior management - Upgrade software when new releases or patches are available - Provide reports delivery using *Microstrategy* Narrowcast Server - Design object model, utilizing SQL and *Microstrategy* 8, designing attributes, metrics, and *reports*, tables, constraints, and stored procedures - Develops and implement SQL Scripts to fix data errors. - Should posses strong Analytical skills and should be able to perform data analysis as required - *SQL expertise (IBM DB2)* - Monitor system and application performance and troubleshoot issues - Accountable for risk assessment and mitigation for all changes that impact the data warehouse and supporting systems - Ensure compliance to development standards, change management and security policies - Ensure coordination with Application development to include feature improvements and functional changes are included in iterative product releases - Monitor, track, and report data warehouse system availability and performance metrics. - Partner closely with Application Development teams. - Partner closely with the Blackhawk QA organization. - Work with the Capacity-planning group to plan system growth based on incoming data volumes and system usage.
