Role: Sr. S/W Architect

Contract-to-Hire: 6 Months + OR Full Time
Required:
• 10+ years experience in the software industry
• 5+ years technical leadership in commercial software development
• Typically 12 or more years of experience in software development, Level 2
Support or related field, with a proven track record of product family
architecture design.
• Knowledge of complex low level system level components.
• Must be able to “talk code”.
• Must have experience with “Software That SHIPS” – e.g. Oracle DB, Microsoft,
HP, etc…
• Server-Side Enterprise S/W exp. w/ Multiple Tiers required.
• Must have a broad technical background.
• Must understand how to talk across and implement across the lines between
PM’s, UCD, Architects and Developers, including in Server and UI technical
arenas.
• Requires experience with Performance Management & Monitoring.
• Hands on experience on a wide variety of platforms and knowledge of many
programming languages and techniques.
• Successful shipment of multiple commercial software releases that are
complex, large-scale, and in use by large installed base
• Architectural experience in multi-tier software, enterprise software, web
applications, and server software
• Expertise in software performance is crucial–require 3+ years experience on
performance-critical products
• 3+ years experience with Java and related technologies
• In-depth knowledge of Java from the JVM up to the broad set of related
technologies
• Commitment to the success of every customer
• Strong Communications Skills
• Must be able to talk with and interface w/ Product Mgt.
• Clarity and precision in verbal and written communication
• M.S. degree in Computer Science preferred

implementation” and know “what to do” – grasp the implementation
kernel DB knowledge pref.

If they wrote this kind of code and it’s been 2-3 years since being hands-on,
that’s ok, but 5 + years is too outdated
Byte Code Instrumentation
MUST understand basic low-level stuff
Eclipse / OSGI
Enterprise Software
A ( CTO ) in the past is a plus
Understand JAVA Environments
Must be able to PICK UP QUICKLY!
Desired:

Knowledge of .NET highly desirable

Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in Computer Science or related
discipline.

Additional management or leadership training is beneficial.
