Load Runner QA Engineer Must start the job at the client’s Phoenix, AZ location for 4 weeks and move to Irvine, CA for the remainder of the assignment. Client will not cover expenses. This *Quality Management Performance Engineer* (QMPE) will work within a collaborative team that provides testing services for various financial & call center applications. You will be responsible for developing and implementing performance test initiatives across multiple lines of business and applications. This position requires experience with the latest performance/load/stress automation techniques in testing theory and practice, a commitment to on-going learning about the field, and a history of applying useful testing concepts in previous positions. The Performance Test Engineer will be responsible for designing performance test solutions for American Funds products, and assuring that those products meet our quality standards. The performance test engineer will be responsible for working with multiple application development, architecture and network teams, to identify, diagnose, and report on performance issues within the supported applications. The successful candidate will be also responsible for developing performance test estimates, strategy, scripting, test scheduling and execution. The candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the following areas: -Bachelor Degree -A minimum of 5 + years experience in performance test automation and tool development, specializing in front-end (UI) and back-end (batch/data transfer) performance testing approaches. -A minimum of 3+ years direct experience using *Load Runner/Performance Center* for the specific purpose of automating performance test cases, including excellent scripting and analysis skills. -2+ years of experience in one or more of the following: performance diagnostics, performance testing, capacity planning, performance architecture design or performance monitoring. . 2+ years of experience with any of the following diagnostics tools: Wily/Computer Associates *Introscope*, *Mercury Diagnostics*, *Quest Performasure*, or *Compuware Vantage* -Experience with integrating Network emulation tools (*SHUNRA*, *IXIA*, etc.) into the performance testing framework. -Strong understanding of client server architecture, web, multi-tier application configurations and tuning, distributed systems, network systems, and relational DB systems (Oracle, SQL Server) required. -Resource usage monitoring for physical servers, application servers, or databases. -Ability to distill volumes of data, analyze performance results, and diagnose performance problems. -Preparing and distributing status reports and other updates to internal clients and management -Performance test planning, setup, and execution -Performance test scripting and test data management -Minimum 3+ years experience in developing SQL queries. -Knowledge of testing tools including the creation and maintenance of automation frameworks, manual scripting, and defect management tools for all types of black box testing. -Develop and maintain technical expertise in the areas of solution and product performance especially pertaining to QA testing tools and emerging methodologies -Experience working with test harnesses or testing frameworks. -Develop and execute automated tests using the selected tool, which will likely require programming in *VB scripting*, *C*, *C++*, *Java*, or *VC++*. -Descriptive Object repository programming -*Java scripting* a plus -Software change control procedures -Functional testing techniques including systems, integration, and regression testing. -Providing leadership for individual performance projects, test design and issues tracking and resolution, including creation and execution of performance test cases/scripts -Communicating actively with internal clients on systems status, including system changes, problems, and potential impacts *You should also demonstrate: * -Must be highly analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and data analysis skills. -Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models. -Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and aggressively in dealing with development and finding resolution to issues found during testing. -Strong verbal and written communication skills that non-technical end users can understand -Strong problem solving and analytical skills <p> -Demonstrates strong professional and organizational skills -Must be detail-, deadline- and results-oriented -Must be very proactive and exhibit initiative with very minimal supervision -Must proactively identify problems, make recommendations regarding solutions, and follow through accordingly Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years experience as a Quality Assurance test analyst or Programmer / Analyst.
