One revolves around an Oracle database upgrade and the other involves an AIX operating system upgrade. The details of the project are as follows: ITG # 42669 Oracle Database Upgrade/migration Scope: Plan and implement upgrade of Oracle databases from Oracle 8i/9i to 10g release. This project includes upgrade planning for each database, set up testing environment for each application; require application testing for the all components and script activities for production environment. The key deliverable is upgrading Oracle 9i databases to a 10g supported release. DBA resources will be available to work on this project. DBAs already have a number of databases upgraded/migrated to 10g Oracle release and are experienced in step by step approach for each application database. Oracle announced that Premier Support for Oracle Database 9.2 ends in July 2007. Oracle announced a waiver to the first year extended support fee for the 9.2 release. The goal of this project is to upgrade all 9i databases to a supported version of Oracle release to avoid extended support costs and degraded support. ITG # 42671 EDW OS and DB Upgrade Upgrade Operating System for EDW: - IBM AIX 5.2 ml07 to 5.3 ml07 by 1st quarter 2009 Upgrade Database Management System and implement additional efficiencies: - IBM UDB EEE 8.2 fp to 9.5 by 1st quarter 2009 Current OS and database versions will be obsolete in 2009. OS is obsolete end of Q1, DB version is obsolete end of April. *Job Requirements: *REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum 6 years project management experience. Infrastructure PM background preferred. REQUIRED EDUCATION: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent and over six years of related experience. Master's degree and/or PMI certification is preferred.
