Business Systems Analyst

Location: Pasadena, CA
Duration: 8 Months

Skills/Experience:

Data Extracts  04-06 Yrs. required
ETL Tools  01-03 Yrs. required
SQL  01-03 Yrs. required
Technical Documentation  04-06 Yrs. required
MS Office  04-06 Yrs. Nice to have
Experience working with insurance and/or call center systems is desired.
Experience completing project documentation inclusive of business rules and
application/data model mapping is required.
Experience with ETL and Data Modeling is desired.
8-10 years of relevant information technology experience including:
< Five or more years of requirements gathering / solution analysis required
< Two or more years of interface / integration mapping required
< One or more years of Project Management / Project Coordination experience
required
< Three years of Industry experience in Insurance, Claims, Medicare, and/or
Healthcare strongly preferred
< Consulting and/or work experience in complex environments is desired
< Knowledge of DB2 Mainframe and Unix Servers strongly preferred
< Two or more years of ETL and mapping experience required
< SAS experience is nice to have.
< Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio are required
Strong communication skills and the ability to express complex analytical
and technical information to business and management audiences are a must.
Critical thinking and the ability to drive project activities are required.



Job Description:

1. Participates and/or Leads review and design concept work for new
information solutions and develops and documents technical design for
solution integration and implementation.

2. Plans, coordinates and conducts the analysis of client business processes
and functional requirements and the preparation of appropriate documentation
to communicate and validate the information

3. When joining in-flight initiatives, quickly absorbs technical and
non-technical requirements to identify information management scope,
opportunities, and needs. Develops requirements and technical
specifications. Facilitates reviews and sign off. Interfaces with both
business and development teams.

4. Develops and maintains relationships in complex cross-matrix environment
with significant dependencies.

5. Designs research plans for data gathering and analysis; participates
significantly in interpreting analyses and developing action plans
accordingly.

6. Determines goals and priorities with team, clients, or project management
sponsors (when appropriate). May coordinate team/project activities and
schedules. May establish team membership and project participants, provide
leadership to multi disciplinary project teams, as well as manage work of
outside consultants when used.

7. Communicates results/recommendations to project sponsors, clients, and
various senior level audiences.

Identifies other initiatives that exist and ensures that efforts are not
duplicated.
Independently initiates, identifies and coordinates the analysis of complex
client needs in project areas such as: new business operating models,
innovative approaches to IT solutions support, available product
functionality and operational readiness assessment.

Develops the analysis and definition of efficient, cost effective solutions
that support client business processes and functional requirements and
resource costs.

Evaluates existing solutions that could address client requirements and
develops recommendations where appropriate. Evaluates alternative
operational efficiencies. Identifies opportunities for solution sharing and
reuse.

Develops high-level information solution design and solution alternatives,
estimates costs, benefits, and makes solution recommendations to business
area.

Participates and/or acts as project lead in the coordination of solution
development and the implementation of the final product/service. Leads,
makes significant contributions, and/or provides technical leadership to
determine and complete project deliverables: including developing work
plans, validating approaches, and working within tight timeframes.

Acts as a liaison between business clients and technical staff and/or with
development staff throughout the development life cycle.
